This community will expire next year

Postby GFreeman »

Hello everyone. Sadly this place has gone almost completely dead and there doesn't seem any activity as for the late. For that reason I'm letting this place expire next year. It's not money that's the issue, it seems pretty pointless if this place is not being used. I ran out of motivation, idea's and support from you guys to keep it going......

I guess our approach and the interest in overclocking has died amongst us.. Even setting up a direction change by myself it won't be any good with any input, idea's and support from ya all.. The whole point for me is to share knowlegde, good content, articles and some old good contacts and most importantly: generate some new traffic / members. Something that hasn't happened in a long time..

I hear ya G. If it becomes more of a burden then it is fun, then it is time to let her go. We had a good run, and many of us can still stay in touch with MSN, or maybe even another forum that is already established. Who knows. Either way, I miss the postings and people who used to come here and share info, results, or just make us laugh.

Also, OCing has fallen pretty low on my list of things to do. I have been balls deep into a few games (mainly Bad Company 2), but only when I have the time. My time off (one day a week) is spent relaxing, or doing all the things I have neglected during the week. My Harley keeps me busy - riding, looking cool, etc etc. I am taking her on a road trip and recently, with the help of my brother, built a nice ramp to get her in and out of my truck. I am heading 750 miles north to visit some family and friends - as well as ride on some hilly, winding roads (something we don't have a lot of here). I can't wait!

I guess the biggest news is, I am going to be a father! My gf is just over 3 months pregnant. We have been together for a long time and we aren't getting any younger. It just seemed like the right time. Soon I will be like Bill and have no free time!

I suppose the point I am trying to make is - we have all moved on in our own way. While I still play games and OC my PC - I don't push things the way I used to. I have other interests and hobbies that take up my free time and keep me out of trouble. Things are good here, and I truly hope the rest of you guys can say the same. I wish you guys the best in whatever it is you decide to do. I will still check this site daily to see if anyone has anything to say. I hope to stay in touch with each and every one of you once this place goes away - you are all my friends and this has been one hell of a ride :)

It has definitally been a long while knowing you guys. First of all congratulations Silly that is some great news you're becoming a father! Oh yes, my interest in overclocking isn't this present anymore either nowdays. I'm into a little gaming once in a while and have my rig optimized with some 24/7 oc'ed settings nothing more really lol! Alot of things changed here as well (asside from the rig LOL!). I'm still using AGP and sitting on a s939 platform. I guess that is pretty prehistoric LOL! I have a strong AGP ATI videocard though so I am able to play some recent games. Living in a new city, the new job is really going well :) I'm gonna get a contract for unlimited years so that is a good thing! Seeing friends and enjoying life. I must admit it is taking some time to settle in this new city. I was dancing in my spare time but got bothered with that.. now thinking of starting some basketball here lol. It's not quite as populair in Holland but I have always liked to game so who knows how badly I may get on LOL!

It's nice to hear from you guys. Yes I don't see much point in expanding this forum for another year next year for above reasons.

Yeah, sad but true. I miss the old days but it seems like it was sooooo long ago now. I never even overclock anymore, it just isn't any fun. Same for running benchmarks, I only do it when testing for Techgage or finding problems.

Anyhow, the time has sadly come. Come on over to Techgage, you can always find me there. I hope we do stay in contact, I do value my online friendships.

Bah, Debbie had a miscarriage. We are both pretty bummed... We will be trying again in a few months (as per doctors orders), and that is the fun part.

Anyway, I hope you guys are doing ok.

^^ sorry to hear that bud, hope you guys get through it, and have a nice healthy one next year.

ive lost my motivation for clocking mainly due to money. it costs too dammed much to get scroes worth competing with, so their isnt really much of a reason to oc apart from that nice little boost.

plus spending 6 months sick dont help...
